One of the critical factors of success in business and as an entrepreneur is mindset. Creating a business requires that you can imagine yourself creating a business, that you see yourself as a business owner, that you understand and can tackle the challenges of working ON a business rather than just in business.

There are a lot of factors that we look for in pitches: do you know your business? Do you have a marketing plan? Can you do what you say you are going to do?

But in the end, it always comes down to whether or not you can deliver. And delivering doesn’t mean working hard and executing on your plan.

If you are going to create a business that grows to $30 million in revenue over the next 5 years you cannot do all of the work yourself. So you must be able to woo a team and inspire them to work toward a common goal.

You must also look a the business from the perspective of an investor; you are building a machine that delivers a return to investors. You can’t do this with the mindset of an employee – only the mindset of an entrepreneur.

And give us a great pitch, show us how you will change the world, and exude the mindset that can deliver.
